Apna Ghar, a Chicago nonprofit dedicated to ending gender violence wanted to tell an authentic survivor story through their client and friend, Amar. Our goal was to preserve Amar’s privacy and tell the story in a way that was accurate but not exploitative; Amar’s willingness to share paved the way for this production. The story of escape, rescue and rejuvenation is told through Amar’s voice, illustrated animation and original composed music.
