Client
The Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) is an education association that provides assistance to its members in building stronger relationships with alumni and donors, raising funds for campus projects, producing recruitment materials, and fostering public support of education, as well as advancement products and services.
Challenge
CASE needed a unique way to pay tribute to honorees at the Council for Advancement and Support of Education-National Association of Independent Schools (CASE-NAIS) annual conference. The videos needed to highlight the way in which awardees had demonstrated outstanding service to the advancement of education and independent schools.
Aha! Moment
CASE wanted to do more than highlight accomplishments; they also wanted to inspire the audience of advancement professionals who would watch the videos. We came up with a formula that would go beyond the standard description of each awardee’s accomplishments and delve into the motivations behind their work.
Solution
Interviews with awardees asked about their inspiration and what drives them to do the work they do. We incorporated B-roll of awardees in familiar environments–their homes, at the schools they support, along with archival photos to paint a more complete picture of each person. We also understood that these pieces needed to convey some background information to help situate them in their context. We incorporated motion graphic text blocks to accomplish this. Through this combination of interview, b-roll, archival imagery, and motion graphics, we were able to delve into each person’s story without adding length.
